This year has been unlike any other in recent history, with COVID restricting us from one another and our beautiful island home. It has been a hard year for so many of us, but in particular, OUR KUPUNA, the most vulnerable of our community.
We are always looking for ways in which to make a meaningful impact to our community, and it came to our attention that one particular part of our community, the members and caretakers at Wilson Senior Living right here in Kailua, haven’t been out of their home for almost an entire year! While this has successfully protected them from any COVID outbreaks, it has been a particularly difficult time for this home of sweet folks. In order to raise their spirits, and truly fulfill our mission of “Live Happy. Do Good.” we decided to form a partnership with the Wilson home.
For Valentine’s Day, the ILH team worked together (with the help of our keiki!) to make cards and art projects for everyone at Wilson. While we can’t visit in person the way that we would like, we were able to visit from a distance, to wave, say hello, and share our special Valentines.
It is our hope to continue this relationship and we would love the help of our ILH community! For March, we plan to deliver NEW games to the Wilson home; things like sudoku, puzzles, art supplies, etc. We would be absolutely honored to have any contributions our ILH Ohana can provide!
The drop box for items will be at Sarah Baker’s house, located at 331 Ilihau St., Kailua.
Please drop off any items no later than March 23.
Mahalo for your support!
